What is Jaiye?

Jaiye is a travel and lifestyle company that curates unforgettable experiences across Africa. We offer group trips, private travel planning, corporate travel services, and relocation assistance to help individuals and businesses explore, move, and thrive in new destinations.

What types of trips does Jaiye offer?

Curated group trips: Join a small group for a structured, high-quality travel experience.

Private/custom trips: Get a personalized itinerary tailored to your interests.

Corporate travel services: Company retreats, incentive trips, and team travel experiences.

Relocation assistance: Support for long-term stays or permanent moves, including flights, visas, housing, and remote work setup.


Who are Jaiye trips for?

Our trips cater to men and women aged 18 to 50+, offering diverse experiences for different travel styles—whether you're an adventurous young explorer, a seasoned luxury traveler, or a professional seeking a seamless work-travel experience.

BOOKING & PAYMENT

How do I book a trip?

  1. Choose a trip.

  2. Fill out the booking form.

  3. A Jaiye representative will contact you within 1-2 business days to finalize any upgrades or special requests.

  4. Pay your deposit to secure your spot.

  5. Receive your confirmation and trip details.

For custom trips or relocation services, submit an inquiry, and we’ll guide you through the process.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit cards and PayPal.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes, we offer a convenient installment plan that allows you to split the total amount into 4 equal installments (including the deposit payment). Installment dates will depend on when you book your experience and pay your deposit. The three following installments will be spaced out equally with the last installment occurring 45 days before the trip.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes.  We understand that plans can change, and we’re committed to making the process as smooth as possible. Because we work with local vendors, accommodations, and experiences that require upfront payments, our refund policy is designed to be fair to both our travelers and our partners.

Cancellations Made by Traveler:

More than 90 days before trip start date: Full refund minus a non-refundable deposit (typically $500–$800 depending on the trip).

61–90 days before trip start date: 50% refund of total trip cost.

46–60 days before trip start date: 25% refund of total trip cost.

45 days or less before trip start date: No refund available.

 

Non-Refundable Deposit:
A portion of every trip payment goes toward securing your spot. This deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances but may be transferable to a future trip if cancellation is made more than 60 days in advance.

Payment Plans & Missed Payments:
If you miss a payment and do not communicate with us within 7 days, your spot may be forfeited and your deposit lost. We’re happy to work with you—just keep us in the loop.

Trip Cancellations by Jaiye:
In the rare case that we must cancel a trip due to low enrollment, political instability, health crises, or other unforeseeable circumstances, you’ll receive a full refund within 7-14 business days or the option to apply your payment to a future trip.

Are there any discounts available?

Yes, we offer discounts and they are listed with the breakdown of each experience. As for group discounts, those are determined on a case-by-case basis depending on the size and details of the trip.

Can I combine discounts?

No, discounts are non-combinable. You can only use one discount per booking.

 

​Can I transfer my booking to another person if I can’t go?

Yes, you can transfer your spot to someone else before the trip starts. Contact us as soon as possible to arrange the transfer.

TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION

Are flights included in Jaiye trips?

Unless stated otherwise, flights are not included in our trip prices. 

 

Do I need a visa?

Visa requirements depend on your nationality and destination. Please check the Passport Index to see what countries you can enter without a visa or with visa-on-arrival. If you are traveling to Nigeria, you can use our visa assistance service that takes the stress out of the process. As of now, we offer visa assistance only for Nigeria.

 

​Can I use my credit card and/or foreign currency to pay for goods and services?

While there are some businesses that accept international credit cards and physical foreign currencies, most do not and you need to bring cash to exchange into the local currency. 

 

Can I come solo, or do I need to bring a friend?

Many of our travelers come solo! We create a welcoming environment where you can connect with like-minded people. You can also bring a friend or partner for the experience.

How do you match roommates for shared accommodations?

If you book a shared room, we match you with a roommate based on gender and general compatibility. If you prefer privacy, you can choose a single room for an additional fee.

What should I pack for my trip?

We recommend packing outfits that go along with the daily activities and outings happening (keep in mind the weather), a small bag to carry around and hold items, sun protection, portable phone chargers, a small portable fan, and any necessary medications. Don’t forget travel adapters for electrical outlets.

Is travel insurance required?

While travel insurance is not mandatory, we highly recommend it for your safety and peace of mind. Jaiye is not responsible for any missed or cancelled flights,  travelers' lost or stolen possessions, or treating any illnesses and injuries that may occur.

What type of accommodation will be provided?

Jaiye ensures that all accommodations are 4 stars or higher, offering a balance of luxury and convenience. We prioritize location, safety, cleanliness, and comfort to give you the best experience possible.

ACTIVITIES & ITINERARY

What types of activities are included in your trips?

Our trips can include cultural tours, visits to historic sites, local cuisine experiences, outdoor adventures, nightlife experiences, shopping, beach activities, leisure activities, luxury experiences, and more. A detailed itinerary for your trip will be provided upon booking.

Can I customize my experience?

All public group trips with set travel dates are non-customizable, except for the length of the trip. If you're interested in a private trip, we can customize the itinerary to your preferences and budget. Please complete the booking form if you'd like to book a private trip. 

HEALTH & SAFETY

Are vaccinations required?

Yes, certain vaccinations, such as Yellow Fever, are required. We advise checking with your local health authority for the most up-to-date information.

Will there be any security provided during my trip?

When it comes to group trips and activities that are within the main and popular areas of a city, there will be no private security or mobile​ police escort provided. For activities that require us to travel to the outskirts of a city or to a neighboring city, security may be provided depending on the journey and destination. For private trips, you can request and pay for added security.
